We strongly oppose plans for a 43-unit condominium complex with underground parking because it endangers the community.
The Condominium Complex:
-compromises emergency ingress and egress in an area that barely missed incineration in the 1991 Oakland firestorm and sits atop the Hayward Fault
-increases air, noise, and light pollution in a corridor already choked with traffic
-removes protections to the hotel and 12 acres of the grounds awarded to the site by every local, state, and national agency
-does not benefit the hotel or the neighborhood, but rewards investors who plan to sell the acre slated for the condominium
Safe and beneficial alternatives exist that benefit the hotel and the community!
